Are you tired of making mistakes when using English at university? Does your spoken Academic English need refreshing? Then maybe this is the course for you!

This course is designed to refresh and improve participants' Academic English skills, particularly those of speaking and listening.
Participants will expand their knowledge of academic vocabulary, refresh their grammar, and have plenty of opportunity to improve their speaking skills through regular pair and group work, formal discussions, debating, spontaneous speaking and mini-presentations. With regard to listening, the focus will be on listening for gist as well as for specific information.

Das Entgelt beträgt 80 Euro. Wenn Sie eine Bestätigung Ihres/Ihrer Vorgesetzten an uns schicken, dass dieser Kurs für Sie "dienstlich notwendig" ist, kann der Kurs als entgeltfreie Weiterbildung anerkannt werden.

The tutoring service is for all students who want one-to-one advice and support in their writing. Experience has shown that it is especially useful and interesting to graduate and PhD students, but it is open to all. The service has an open access OWL (Online Writing Lab) website in moodle, where there are many materials which will help you with your writing. The language tutor offers sessions on the days and during the times specified below for individual consultations; to sign up for an initial appointment, please e-mail jeffrey.verhey@hu-berlin.de after enrolment. Other times are negotiable.
